Google Play Banking Service Plans Paused
Google has put a halt to plans of enabling users a banking service through a Google Play based app. The service was going to be launched to enable users to register for a regular bank/checking account which would be managed by traditional which the user would then manage through the app.
The app was branded as Google Plex service is now thought to have been scrapped permanently due to a series of missed deadlines on other projects. Google had planned to allow users create accounts without banking or overdraft fee’s and create savings targets.
The cancellation of the Plex project has been greeted with disappointment as many felt that the tech giant could have helped shake up the banking industry and benefited the users with a free banking service.
